How to do it

Not everyone can always make it to their local occupation. Some are busy, some are handicapped, some are afraid, and some are sitting on the fence. For these people, we have devised a new and simple tactic that can be used to express solidarity for Occupy Wall Street from the comfort of the home (or wherever you might be that has lights).

At 9pm in your local time zone, simply flip the lights on and off for an entire minute. Continue to do this every night until you can see social and economic justice for all.
The more people do it, the more visible, entertaining and peaceful it will become for all of us. Its as simple as that. It is legal, fun, and highly effective. Do it! We want to see it happen in the white house!

Background

In 1996 there was a terrible accident and scandal involving figures from the Turkish government, the armed forces, and organized crime all in the same car. As a result, the people of Turkey were awakened to the idea that their government was cavorting around with criminals. Part of their protest and response was what was called "Sürekli Aydinlik Için Bir Dakika Karanlik" ("One minute's darkness for the sake of perpetual light"). The protest tactic was identical to what is described above and was extremely effective.
